Helena Aurora Range /Mt Jackson Homestead: The alternate route Friday Sept 12 – Monday 15th 2025

General Info:

Starting from Southern Cross spending the first night at Karalee Rock Conservation area and dam. On day 2 we will travel to the Helena Aurora  Ranges via Duladgin  well, a pioneer grave site, Lake seabrook and onto Koolyanobbing for lunch then heading to Helena Aurora Ranges via a reasonable track to our camp. Those who wish can drive to the top of the Range for sunset ( weather permitting) then back to camp and an evening fire. after Camping the night at the Helena Aurora Ranges we make our way to Marda Dam,  Mt Jackson Homestead  making our south to Baladgie Rock via Mt Jackson Road then another unnamed track to our  campsite. our final day will be making our way back towards Perth via some interesting sites where we will stop for lunch and morning tea.

You will need to be self sufficient. as there are no toilets, showers.

Towing: Suitable for Tents and Fully off Road Camptrailers and hybrids or similar but preferably no wider or higher than your tow vehicle - Contact Howard if unsure..

Conditions/ Rating : medium- We will be travelling on a range of Roads from well formed gravel roads, lesser travelled tracks to the occasional rarely used tracks with some ruts and possibly scratchy sections.
